Ease of Use (0-6 pts.)
The second most important web consideration is how easily your content can be
accessed. Sites are given points that have a main menu on every page.
Lengthy pages should have top/bottom page links interspersed throughout
(Every 5 vertical scrolls in 800 x 600 screen resolution). No page should rely on
the user to click on the browser's "Back" button to return to where he/she was
(Excluding pages linked to a graphic, PDF or a new windows). Also, be sure that you
give your visitors the option to turn off any long (5 sec.) sounds, animations or
videos.
Consistency (0-4 pts.)
The look and location of the menu should be standard throughout the site. Also the
location of where links open should be consistent. If an external link opens a
new window then all external links should do so (Unless the service you link to does
not permit this - Example: eXTReMe Tracking). Internal links opening a new window is
OK, as long as the new page does not contain links to the site's main menu.
Alt Attributes (0-4 pts.)
Alt attributes (wrongly referred to by some as "alt tags") on graphics are useful for
users who browse non-graphically, such as blind users who
access a page using audio-based technology and automated indexing programs that
recognize the alt text as part of the content. Therefore, at least 90% of your content
images should have descriptive alt attributes. It's especially important that
all graphic links have alt attributes. One point will be deducted from this score for
every graphic link without an alt attribute. Blank values (alt="") are
permissible, and even encouraged, on purely decorative images.
Ease of Contact (0-4 pts.)
A visitor should easily find an email address or an email form to correspond with a
website representative. An email link clearly marked on the home page is mandatory
to win any points in this category. Full points will be given if an email link is on
every page of the site.

Stop Spam Bots from Obtaining Your Email Address from Your Website" at
Linda's Computer Stop.
Search Engine Ranking (0-2 pts.)
Using the META keywords as search criteria, a site is tested on its ranking within Google
and Yahoo. Full points are given to a site that is in the first ten listings
on either search engine.
