Link Integrity (0-4 pts.)
ALL internal links and the majority (90%)of external links should be in working order. It is
understood that the webmaster has no control over external sites, but an effort should
be made to weed out any dead links.
There are several helpful link
checkers on the Internet and the best part is that they're free. I recommend looking
at
Xenu's Link Sleuth.

Browser Compatibility (0-4 pts.)
The majority of your visitors are probably using version 6.0 of Microsoft Internet
Explorer, but many are moving over to a Gecko-based browser (Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox)
and a few are still using IE 5.5. Optimally, your site should work in
all. Only one point is deducted from this score if the
site is not compatible with IE 5.5, two if it's not compatible with Gecko
(Firefox)
and all four if it doesn't work in IE 6.0.
Screen Resolution (0-4 pts.)
A site should fit in a variety of different resolutions and smaller is always better.
Most people are on 1024 x 768 pixel resolution systems, but many are still using
800 x 600 display screens. You will gain all four points if your site is viewable in
800 x 600 resolution with no horizontal scroll bars and two points in 1024 x 768.
Bandwidth Sensitivity (0-4 pts.)
Broadband will soon eclipse dialup, but 56k modems are still popular. Therefore,
the size of each individual page should be under 150k. No points are scored if any
page is over 600k.
Coding (0-4 pts.)
All HTML page scripts should include image height and width tags as well as a
title. Framed pages should be properly coded. JavaScript errors will not be tolerated
unless they are beyond the control of the webmaster, such as host site JavaScript ads.
A score of 0 will be given to sites that make it difficult to access the code, such as
those implementing a "no right click" script.
If a page has a JavaScript error, Internet Explorer shows a warning
( ) in the
lower left corner of the browser. To find out more about an error under IE go to the
menu and click "Tools > Internet Options... > Advanced" and check off "Display a
notification about every script error."
