It is quite an accomplishment to have an awardmaster, with railroad interests like yours,
honor your website with their award. It is even more so when five or more awardmasters
agree on honoring you. Your website deserves to be recognized for reaching such an achievement.
This program was created specifically with that in mind. If you have five or
more awards listed within the Railroad Award SitesTM
list sitting in your "roundhouse" (awards page), you may be eligible to display this badge of
honor.
The Roundhouse of Recognition badge features the huge 433-foot diameter car shop
in Altoona, Pa. as it looked in 1895. Here, nearly 2,000 men labored producing tens of
thousands of freight cars for the Pennsylvania Railroad. Within the covered area 75 cars
could be built at once while others were repaired in the open center. The roundhouse
featured a 100-foot turntable and in later years became the locomotive finishing shop.
The badge is 120 pixels wide by 140 pixels high and weighs 8 kb. Source*
Recognition Stars
The star on the badge symbolizes the five awards listed with Railroad Award Sites
your site has won. For every five awards your site wins, an additional star is
added to your Roundhouse of Recognition badge of honor:
Whenever your site reaches a five-award milestone you are welcome to re-apply to gain
an additional star.
To Qualify...
You are the site's webmaster and 13 years of age or older.
There is no hate, pornography, racist or violent content on your site.
You display five or more awards listed in the Railroad Award Sites section that your
website has rightfully won (proof may be required).
Of the five or more awards won, three must be listed as active.
All of the awards are linked back to their respective programs and are not
resized in any way (unless permitted by awardmaster).
A previous Roundhouse of Recognition badge does not count.
An award from an Awards Program (AP) that you own or are associated with does not count.
Only one award from one AP will count. For example, if you won a bronze and
silver from the Smokin' Award AP, it will count as one.
To Apply...
Simply fill out the application below. Your site will be visited and reviewed within a
week. All applicants will be notified of their status. If your website is accepted, a
Roundhouse of Recognition badge of honor will be emailed to you. Although, we
would appreciate it if you display the badge, it is not required. If your website
is not accepted, you are welcome to re-apply any time once the required criteria is
met.
